Bankruptcy was the last place I ever wanted or expected to be. So having someone knowledgeable, down-to-earth, attentive , and kind in my corner to help me navigate the filing process and reorganize financially took on the greatest importance. The first thing that happened is that David Gunn explained and explored options pertaining to my case during a free consultation. Then he explained the steps and the costs involved in completing bankruptcy successfully.
Once the decision to proceed was made, everything was streamlined to set the process in motion. Thanks to Mr. Gunn and his knowledgeable, well-organized, and hard-working staff, I never felt alone or without resources.

My wife and I had to file due to overwhelming medical bills with our special needs daughter. That filing was with a completely diff company that no longer exists, and for good reason, they didn't care. After two years of struggling to even make that payment, and get our daughter the care she needed, we were told to talk to David Gunn at TBC, thank goodness we did. He took one look at our situation, and told us we were paying double what we should be based on all factors. With in 3 months we had a new plan and a new filing, and it was half as much per month. We had become so used to no one helping us through our situation that we were shocked when someone not only said they could, but they did, and in a big way. Rachelle and David are absolutely amazing, and really do care about us. Case in point, the day we were at the court we had to take our newborn son with us, David made sure that we were the first to see the court judge that day so we didn't have to wait with our son. It's the little things like that, that matter. If you have to go down this path, as we did, and make this tough decision, it's good to have David on your side to guide you, he will be honest, but also caring.

Finally! I am able to woosah!! I don't think people realize how important it is to pick the right attorney from the start. Some "act" as if they care but the reality is you are just another face to some. Attorney David Gunn is an exception to this scenario. He is everything... patient, calm, down to earth, understanding, honest, and he has a warm & genuinely welcoming personality.
This energy is felt with the employees in the office as well. Everyone from the ladies in the office to the paralegals. I started speaking with Mr. Gunn about 5 months prior to filing because I was simply lost on what to do. He listened to what I'd gone through, he didn't try to persuade me to use him. He just gave me a honest, direct conversation. When I finally made my mind up, he did everything to help me. And what he couldn't help me with, he gave me really good resources. He has been everything I've need him to be. Especially in the state of mind I was in. I needed a smart legal advocate who would stir me in the right direction. Ohhhh, the other best part...he will give you all the knowledge you need to get your credit back on track following the dismissal of your case.
If you are needing a honest bankruptcy attorney, you will do yourself a world of good to go through this company. If you think genuine, honest people don't exist in this world, then you have never met David Gunn.

David and his staff are fantastic. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable and good at what they do, they are good people. They actually care about you and make sure they do everything they can to help you get through bankruptcy.
I'm so glad I found them and chose them to help me through this.

This may be a bit lengthy, but every word could not be more well deserved.
I didn't know exactly what to expect because I have never had to deal with this before and was honestly embarrassed and maybe slightly ashamed. Nevertheless, David was professional and supportive. He and his team took my very complicated case (high day job earner plus self-employed income along with multiple real estate holdings, a couple of vehicles, and some other assets), worked with me for almost 2 years, and got me not one of, but the very best resolution. One month post discharge, my credit score went from 5-something to 719. That is no exaggeration.
More detailed version - As I said, my situation was extremely complicated and I was doing everything I could to stay on top of it myself however it was all just too much and I couldn't seem to get everything on track. One thing would level out for something else to fall apart. I'd take care of that and another domino would tumble. This cycle continued for some time. I honestly did not want to file for bankruptcy. I had this negative image of what that meant. I finally decided to make a couple of calls and David was one of them.
Most of the firms were guiding me toward a Chapter 13 and really didn't take much time to entertain the possibility of a 7 or speak with me on the phone much before "inviting me to get the Chapter 13 started". While that probably makes sense on one hand, I was extremely worried about the 5 year payment. I knew I was going to be giving up a lot and I was worried about being able to save during that time or any of the other ramifications. David, however, invited me in for an in-person consultation to discuss the viability of a Chapter 7 due to the high percentage of my business debt and being a non-consumer case. I'll never forget what he said on the phone as we ended our first conversation: "You have a lot more going on than the average case and I can't promise you that it will be easy or smooth, but I can definitely promise you that I can help you make it better. There is way".
From there on, it really is history. There were a few complications and snags that slowed us down, but David stayed with me. There were moments where I felt lost and some where I needed to be educated on the process and procedure. That could have come across as the team being short or frustrated, but I was reassured that wasn't the case. Every time I apologized I was told that I had nothing to be sorry for and every time I asked for clarification it was given to me. I've seen some complaints about punctuality and I have had to wait a couple of times but like the doctor's office, that just tells me he is giving his clients the time and attention they deserve and I feel like that same level of thoroughness was given to me. I hereby apologize if I made him late for anyone after me because I have a feeling that I must have at least a couple times.
This likely wouldn't be the case for all types, but the entire process for me took a pretty long time. We met in February or March of 2018. We filed in June of 2019. Though the process wasn't short, it was worth the wait. Here I am on the other side and every single thing that we set out to accomplish was achieved. We indeed got through a Chapter 7 and my discharge was entered in December of 2019. My credit score was in the high 7s before everything fell apart and in the mid-to-high 5s just before filing. One month post-discharge my score is up in the 7s (higher than anticipated), I'm maxing out my 401K, and I'm back on track. I could not be more grateful to David and his team and relieved. My advice is to give them a call. Even if you think you can't do it or shouldn't do it, David will help you find your way. Don't let anyone rush or bully you and trust in his ability to handle cases of all sizes and complexity levels.
15/10; would highly recommend.

I contacted The Bankruptcy Company for a speeding ticket. The service they provided was excellent and affordable. After emailing them a copy of the ticket, they they took care of everything else. I have referred several friends there, and they all have had the same experience. I highly recommend them.

When we got the letter showing the detailed pictures Red light camera in Hannibal got a picture of the driver (my husband) and our license plate. We thought we were doomed. But 3 points off for an intersection where the line was completely faded, was too much to just bit the bullet and give into. We took a chance with The Bankruptcy Company and we are so glad we did! The paralegal I spoke with, Laura Jernigan handled the case, all we had to do was get the letter to her. The day after our court date, we found out that they got it amended to a non-moving violation! That was something we really doubted could be done. Hannibal has a huge reputation for being a money hungry, terrible town to drive through. The Bankruptcy Company‘s representation was very much appreciated and very effective. Seeing is believing and now I thoroughly recommend the firm to anyone who is seeking representation by two skilled, personable, and most importantly effective attorneys.

I have had a consistently excellent experience referring my own clients to Scott, Jennifer and the team at The Bankruptcy Company for many years now. They care, they work hard, and they deliver powerful results to their Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 clients.

Contesting a traffic violation is never a fun experience, but The Bankruptcy Company provided an excellent customer service experience that made the situation much less stressful. I had a particularly confusing situation (recent MO residents take heed, if you're caught speeding in the greater St. Louis area expect a costly additional fine for driving without a MO license) that their office was able to plead down to two non-moving violations. The paralegal I spoke with, Laura Jernigan, was especially resourceful and patient with me (it took me several weeks longer than I had expected to get a MO license and the court date was rapidly approaching). Easily the best experience I've had with traffic law, which may be setting the bar rather low, but, all the same...
